Grow Your Email List Like Crazy Using Free Mailerlite Forms

Grow Your Email List

Having an email list is one of THE most important things for your business, and there are many reasons why. If you would like to know those reasons why, read about why your business needs an email list here.

So you know that you need an email list, but in order to grow your email list, there’s something you need to master…how to get people to actually give you their email addresses.

This seems simple, right? Yes, if you have a plan for gathering email addresses. If you’ve thrown an email sign up button somewhere on your website and are just hoping that people give enough shits to subscribe, then no…not so simple.

There are A LOT of blog posts on the glorious world wide web about how to grow your email list, and some people actually encourage buying emails or finding them on random websites – to which I say “ew.” If you aren’t growing your email list with people who are actually interested in your business, then you’re wasting your time. The end.

The entire goal of learning to grow your email list is to FILL IT TO THE BRIM with people who may actually turn into your customers. And the way to do this, you ask? (more…)

How to Use Mailerlite Automation to Introduce Your Business (On Autopilot)

Mailerlite Automation

Let’s just jump right in. Mailerlite automation is the shit.

In a nutshell, automation is like having a 24/7 office assistant to take care of all your email needs. As with any assistant, you have to put in some work up front to train and get them up to speed, but once they’re there, you can kick your feet up and watch reruns of your favorite show while your email runs itself. Sounds amazing, right?!

That’s because it is.

The main reason that I am a fan of Mailerlite automation is because I am all about instant gratification. If I am interested enough in something that I’m willing to give my name, phone number, email, etc., I want to be followed up with as quickly as possible. Have you ever signed up for something and then *crickets*? A few things come to my mind when this happens to me:

  1. This person/company has poor follow-through
  2. Maybe the link I clicked on was broken
  3. OR sometimes I forget that I signed up and then days/weeks later when I do get a response, I’m no longer interested

The common denominator with all of those ^ things: no good.

First impressions matter, and not only when you’re introducing your new significant other to the fam for the first time. The way customers are introduced to your brand can make or break their overall opinion about your business. So while your introduction is important, it shouldn’t be complicated or time-consuming. One of the easiest, most effective and most efficient ways to introduce your business/brand to new customers is through a welcome email (here’s where Mailerlite automation comes into play, if you were wondering when I would mention that again).

Email Marketing: How to Build an Email List + Why Businesses Need One

Email Marketing

Ah, email marketing.

Tried and true, email marketing is still one of the best ways to communicate with customers.

Similar to social media, we are all pretty much always plugged into our inboxes because it’s so accessible. We have it on our phone, on our computer, on our refrigerator…yes, you read that correctly. I’m the queen of unnecessary purchases and I bought one of those Samsung refrigerators with the tablet in the door…no regrets, it’s fantastic.

BUT ANYWAY!

There are so many good reasons why your business needs to implement email marketing, but these are the top few:

  1. Your list belongs to you.
  2. Email marketing is a direct line of communication from you to your customers.
  3. You can automate and schedule your emails, saving yourself SO. MUCH. TIME.
  4. Email providers can generate some pretty nifty reports that are extremely useful.
  5. IT’S FREE TO START (so why not!?)

Time Management: How Time Blocking Exploded My Productivity (+ FREE Time Blocking Template!)

Time Management

I used to wake up every day with pretty high hopes for myself. I would go to bed each night, think about the tasks I needed to complete the next day and say to myself…“I’m going to wake up and knock. that. shit. out. No problem.”

Yeah, that hardly ever happened.

I wasn’t napping, I wasn’t “taking quick breaks” to go to Target and I wasn’t watching ANY TV. So why wasn’t I getting anything done?!

I was multitasking.

“But multitasking is a good thing.” Eh, debatable.

The thing about multitasking is that multiple tasks have your focus at one time (like that word breakdown?). It can be a great thing if you’re working on one thing while other things that don’t require your attention are happening in the background (i.e. you have a load of clothes washing/drying while you’re on a conference call). But if you have a list of tasks to do that all require your undivided attention to finish, you’ll never finish everything by trying to multitask. You just won’t.

Effective time management is one of the top things that entrepreneurs struggle with, especially when their business is based out of their home. It is so easy to get sidetracked and jump from one task to the other, and when 5:00 rolls around you realize that you haven’t gotten anything done even though you’ve been working feverishly all day long.

I get it. I really do. Because that was me.

Now…introducing the best thing to ever happen to my time management skills: Time Blocking. TADA!

What Should I Post on my Business Website? + Kickass Content Cheatsheet

I talk a lot about the importance of having a website for your business, and it’s not just because I am a total website geek…it’s because it really is important.

I don’t know about you, but one of the first things I do when I hear about a new business is look it up online. I want to know what the business is all about, what other people think about it, who owns it, etc. I basically want to know all I can possibly know about it before I even make the first contact with that business. The reasoning behind this is simple enough: we all like as little risk as possible.

It’s true. Generally, people don’t like surprises and they want to be “in the know” when it comes to just about everything. If I’m going to try out a new restaurant, I want to see their menu and read what other people have to say about it before I go there. So if I look up that restaurant name online and nothing comes up, that’s an issue for me. It may even stop me from going there, which sounds super dramatic, but it’s true! I want to know what to expect from that business beforehand so that I am less likely to be disappointed.

Creating your business website is simple enough (I give a step-by-step tutorial in my post Starting a Blog on Your Lunch Break: The No BS Guide.) but figuring out what to post on said website is the hard part…or so you thought 🙂 In this post, I’m going to give you a jumpstart to creating kick-ass content for your business website and explain all the things you need to include to make sure you’re getting the most out of it.
